I am writing today to introduce myself and Forget-Me-Not Funerals. I am so excited to be able to start offering transparent and practical support to people in Kent. My background is in Health and Social Care and I was previously a CQC Registered Care Manager of a home care company in Kent.
I want to take my experience of supporting people in the community, especially with terminal illnesses such as Cancer, Alzheimer’s and other degenerative illnesses, and use this to offer a supportive and knowledge service.
I have always had an interest in the funeral industry and after experiencing loss first hand I realised there was a need for a service that encompassed knowledge of what families and friends are going through in the lead up, during and post bereavement.
There is a lack of support and guidance for families and friends navigating the complex health and social care industry, and it all comes to a sudden and abrupt stop when their loved one passes away. This can be really hard for family and friends who may be used to regular visit from carers and other healthcare professionals. Having vast experience of this process I feel I can add valuable support to family and friends whilst assisting in tailoring a personalised funeral.
I will keep everyone updated on our journey and answer questions, signpost people to valuable services and build a strong bereavement support network in Kent.
