Covid - 19 Update Direct Cremation
Currently the advice for Funeral Director’s is changing on a daily basis. We have been keeping up with Government updates and advice from NAFD and SAIF, both governing bodies for the Funeral Service. At present it is advised that Funerals can go ahead, with close family members only attending, up to a maximum of 10 people.
Most Funeral Directors’ are advising that Families have a Direct Cremation and a Memorial Service at a later date to celebrate the life of their loved one, when they can invite the whole Family and Friends too. Of course, this is a difficult decision to make at any time, and particularly during the circumstances we find ourselves in currently. Things may change in the next few days or weeks ahead and we will keep you updated.
It is with all these things in mind that we at Forget Me Not Funerals have taken the decision to only offer Direct Cremations for the time being. This goes completely against our ethos, but in the current climate we feel we have to make this tough decision in order to keep our staff and our clients safe. You can choose to have a simple memorial afterwards for yourselves or we can help you to arrange one in a few months when this is all over.
Our Direct Cremation - this a non-attended cremation.
